our 2026 night fishing program is officially over , thank you to the anglers who came here to the soho to night fish with me , it was a somewhat short season with limited access due to the extreme weather patterns we experienced this summer , the good news is that we have added the Watauga River to the 2027 night fishing program , the watauga river is a totally different east tennessee tailwater river with a summer recreational flow schedule that turns off at 6 pm daily during the summer months , with the watauga river now being added as part of our 2027 night fishing program , we will not have to cancel or reschedule any night trips for the upcoming night fishing season ,everyone who wants to fish will get to fish , what the 2026 season taught us is that we can be shut out and denied access to the south holston river when the TVA decides to generate high water flows past midnight , we now have other options instead of just the south holston river , we are already planning trips for the upcoming 2027 night fishing program ,
on November 1 2026 the south holston river annual Wild Brown Trout spawn season begins , we have several miles of river that closes to all fishing in 2 different sections of the south holston river from Nov 1, 2026 - Jan 31, 2026 , back in 2022 i retired from daytime fishing and i also retired from fishing during the annual soho wild brown trout spawn , this guide service Big Fish SoHo does not fish or guide during the 3 month spawning season and has not guided or fished during the spawn since 2022 , i will be taking this fall and winter off from all fishing to go spend time with my mother and family in Connecticut for the holidays and than we will begin to start to prep the boat and gear for the upcoming spring and summer 2027 night fishing season , this will be the last update on this web site untill spring 2027 , thanks for all the support and interest in the night fishing program , 2026 saw the greatest interest in night fishing that we have seen since the beginning of this night fishing program , im very inspired with all the positive interest we experienced this summer , with that said im now opening up the booking calendar for the 2027 night fishing season , we have dates available from April through September , message me for any questions about available dates or book your date or dates whenever you are ready to go , thanks for reading the reports , Ronnie

As i mentioned in the Fishing report above , the Watauga River is now part of our Night Fishing Program for the 2027 Season , we are excited to expand our guiding services to the Watauga River in Elizabethton Tennessee wich is only a short drive from my home on the South Holston River , Some locals call the Watauga the " Sister River " to the Soho , as a daytime guide since 2016, i have fished and guided clients on many float trips on the Watauga River during the Annual Spring Caddis Hatch , mostly sight fishing with the dry fly , so i already have a decent amount of Data and Experience on the Watauga River ,
